I heard an NPR story a few weeks back about private equity firms buying up hospitals, driving up value by extreme cost cutting (laying off staff, restricting or selling off equipment or property) and then sending them into bankruptcy, which has been especially hard on rural hospitals. I wonder if this is an example of that predatory behavior?
