Kind of a cool story from the L.A. Times on retired Big Pine teachers who started out with a little bird guide, and found themselves addicted to adding first sightings in Inyo county. They ended up 441 first sightings, with much more they couldn't fit in the book, as there simply wasn't enough space. I enjoyed reading it, as it captures the spirit of curiousity, as well as obsession. Here's the story link:
